Carbon 14 and the Age of the Earth

We are discussing Carbon Dating, probably the most reliable form of dating that we currently have available. Carbon 14 however has some strong limitations, primarily that it has a very short half life of about 5700 years. This means that is should not be detectable at all after about 100,000 years, if we are being very generous and definitely not after millions of years. Yet, we find Carbon 14 in practically everything, from coal to diamonds - both dated to hundreds of thousand to millions of years old. This is not possible within the evolutionary paradigm, but finding Carbon 14 in organic things fits precisely with the Biblical Chronology.
